Project Description

Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) applied for and received a National Scenic Byways grant for the preparation of a Corridor Partnership Plan (CPP) for the North Richardson Highway State Scenic Byway between Fairbanks and Fort Greely. As part of this project, a byway stakeholder group, made up of local community representatives and interested parties, will be identified and formed. The stakeholder group and DOT&PF will work closely to prepare the Corridor Partnership Plan (CPP).

The purpose of this website is to distribute project documents and keep stakeholders up to speed with the status of the CPP development.

The CPP will include a vision statement for the Byway as well as goals and strategies for implementation. One advantage to completing a CPP is that it enables public and non-profit organizations along the corridor to solicit National Scenic Byway Grant funds for projects directly related to the Byway. A CPP also enables local residents to pursue designation as an "America's Byway" when and if there is strong local support.
